If you are looking to create a unique and fun vacation that is just a little different, why not book a trip that finds you visiting some of the world's most famous hotels? While some of these hotels might be out of your price range, many of them allow for people to visit to check out these famous places. If you are able to, then booking a room in one of these hotels is a treat.

Here are some of the world's most famous hotels that you might want to add to a unique and fun hotel tour.

New York City's The Plaza Hotel

You have most likely heard of The Plaza Hotel located in New York City. It sits near Central Park and is one of the older hotels in the United States. It has been used as a filming location for several movies including "Home Alone 2" and "North By Northwest" among others. You just might find some celebrities staying here too. It hosts plenty of music and movie stars while they are in town.

If you like, you could take etiquette lessons or check out the hotel's all-pink suite based on a children's book.

London, England's Brown's Hotel

If you want to check out a luxurious hotel in the heart of London, England than Brown's Hotel is the one for you. Located in the Mayfair district, this hotel once played host to Queen Victoria. The hotel has marble tubs fit for soaking away sore muscles, and it hosts afternoon tea for guests and visitors alike. The hotel is just down the street from major attractions such as Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace.

Even if you can't book a room here, it is worth checking out the lobby and having tea. Don't forget to take lots of pictures.

Bahamas' Atlantis Bahamas

This is one of the most iconic hotels in Nassau, Bahamas. If you have seen TV commercials about the Bahamas, this is most likely the hotel you have seen pictured in shots. This hotel is actually a resort with a casino and houses the largest marine habitat in the world. If you are able to, this is one hotel you need to visit at least once in your life.

The complex has a large waterpark with a waterslide that brings visitors right through a live shark tank. The hotel has miles of beaches and some of the best views on the islands.

Colorado's The Stanley Hotel

If you are looking for something a little different, then you must visit The Stanley Hotel. This large hotel is considered a historical landmark and is located near the Rocky Mountain National Park. It has beautiful views and an interesting history. It was once a place for patients of tuberculosis. It is also the inspiration for Stephen King's book "The Shining." The TV miniseries was actually filmed here.

If you are a ghost hunter, there are some stories that could get you interested in visiting as well. There are several rooms within the hotel that have been deemed haunted.
