Planning A Hotel Stay? 4 Issues To Discuss When Making Your Reservations

If you're getting ready to book your hotel reservations, don't forget to discuss the important details. You might think that travel dates, and bed counts, are all the information that the hotel will need, but that's not the case. There are actually several other details that should be discussed when making your hotel reservations. Before you make your reservations, read the list provided below. Here are just four of the issues you should discuss when making your hotel reservations.

Allergies

Now that you're making hotel reservations, be sure to consider your allergies. If you, or someone in your family, suffers from allergies, you need to discuss that when making your hotel reservations. This is especially important where hygiene supplies and minibars are concerned. For instance, if you're allergic to peanuts, you want to make sure that the hotel is aware of that allergy. That way, the minibar isn't stocked with any foods that contain peanuts.

Children

If you're going to be traveling with children, you'll want to let the hotel know that when making your reservations. Most hotels can provide additional accommodations for young children. Some of those accommodations include portable cribs, bath toys, and craft items such as crayons and coloring books. Some hotels also offer special clubs for kids. To make sure your children have access to the special accommodations, be sure to talk to the hotel staff while making your reservations.

Mobility

If you suffer from mobility constraints, don't forget to share those details with the hotel when making your reservations. This is especially important if you're confined to a wheelchair. In most cases, the hotel can make special arrangements for you, which will make your stay more comfortable and secure. For instance, some hotels offer roll-in showers to ensure wheelchair access. Hotel staff can also ensure that your room has plenty of space to maneuver your wheelchair, which can make your stay more accessible.

Meals

If you're planning an extended hotel stay, and you want to avoid all the fast food, talk to the hotel staff about meal options. This is especially important if you want to do some of your own cooking. You might have the option to choose a room that's equipped with a kitchenette. If you plan to do your own cooking, be sure to ask about appliance policies, especially if you want to bring your own pressure cooker or slow cooker. Some hotels have restrictions regarding the use of personal appliances.
